In this episode, we discuss the key themes of Psalm 131, letting each verse be the guide and structure of our prayer. We find that David is attributed as the author, and he suggests that he isn't lifting his eyes up in longing or expectation. He's not consumed with thinking of things beyond his current station. When he wrote it, we do not know, but we know wherever he was he was content. How content? As content as a weaned child as he states. This is quite a statement and suggests that he is content to simply be with God, and not want his "milk" as the analogy suggests. Put another way, David did not want the gift but instead wanted the Gift Giver.
